CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur Criticizes Past Leaders, Vows to Complete Key Projects

Peshawar: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Gandapur, criticized previous political leaders for failing to build essential infrastructure such as colleges in districts and promised to focus on completing projects that are feasible within his tenure.
Speaking at the inauguration of the missing link of Peshawar Ring Road, Nasser Bagh Road, CM Gandapur announced that the link road and Nasser Bagh Road would be completed within the next eight months. He emphasized that he would only lay the foundation for projects that he could realistically complete, clarifying that he would not drag the 2025 projects into 2035.
The CM highlighted that Peshawar had not received the attention it deserved in the past, stating, “We inherited a lot of issues, and our province only received 18 days’ worth of salaries from its resources, but we continue to engage in principled politics.” He further added that his government would focus on long-term solutions rather than quick fixes, and pledged to allocate a 50 billion rupees ADP Plus for development projects.
He also pointed out that for sustainable development, building districts and tehsils alone isn’t enough; essential services must also be provided. “You cannot call it progress just by creating districts; real progress happens by providing facilities like hospitals and colleges,” he stressed.
The Chief Minister expressed frustration with previous administrations, mentioning, “For the past 15 years, 30 billion rupees have been spent on districts and tehsils, yet many lack even a single college or DHQ hospital.” He further criticized the lack of healthcare infrastructure, citing that the entire province only has one heart disease hospital, causing long delays in patient care.
Addressing his political critics, Gandapur stated, “Such public representatives who couldn’t even build a college in their district deserve to be criticized harshly.” He added that his government would accomplish what previous governments failed to do, including completing projects that were started back in 2013 but had seen no progress.
The CM also promised to develop new roads from industrial estates and provide a comprehensive development package for Peshawar. He acknowledged the challenges posed by local governments and quality control issues but pledged to address these issues in his term.
In response to questions regarding his meeting with the Governor, Gandapur clarified that he had attended the Chief Justice’s oath-taking ceremony, reaffirming that he does not hide his actions from the public.
