Pakistan’s Nuclear Program is Fully Secure, DG ISPR Says, Accuses India of Destabilizing Balochistan

Islamabad: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), has assured that Pakistan’s nuclear program is fully secure and that no one has the courage to target it. He further accused India of being behind efforts to destabilize Pakistan, particularly in the Balochistan region.
In an interview with Al Jazeera TV, DG ISPR stressed that India is engaged in a systematic plot to destabilize Pakistan’s security, with a specific focus on Balochistan. His remarks come in the wake of the deadly bombing in Waziristan last month, which resulted in the martyrdom of 16 soldiers and injuries to over 20 others. The attack was claimed by the terrorist group “Fitanat al-Khawarij,” believed to be associated with the Taliban. Pakistan maintains that India is directly involved in supporting and financing terrorist activities within the country.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry explained the term “Fitanat al-Khawarij” (the Khawarij sect) is widely used in Pakistan’s media and military circles to refer to armed groups targeting the state and military. He stated that these groups, operating under a misguided ideology, are engaged in acts of violence against civilians and military personnel alike. He further emphasized that in Islam, only the state has the authority to declare jihad or fight in defense, not individuals, organizations, or groups. The Khawarij groups, according to him, have no connection to Islam, humanity, or Pakistan’s traditions.
The DG ISPR also mentioned that the term “Fitanat al-Hindustan” (Indian-backed extremists) is now commonly used to describe those terrorist elements operating within Pakistan with India’s backing. These groups are particularly active in Balochistan, seeking to disrupt Pakistan’s peace and stability.
Chaudhry reiterated that Pakistan considers any act of aggression against Islamic nations as a threat to regional stability and that India’s political leadership has repeatedly admitted to its involvement in supporting terrorism within Pakistan. He pointed to Ajit Doval, India’s National Security Advisor, as the mastermind behind the network of state-sponsored terrorism operating against Pakistan. He noted that countries like the United States and Canada have acknowledged India’s role in such activities.
In the interview, DG ISPR also reaffirmed Pakistan’s political and diplomatic support for Iran, which has been under attack from Israeli aggression.
Concluding his statements, Lieutenant General Chaudhry confidently stated that Pakistan’s nuclear program is invulnerable, and no one can threaten its security. He reiterated that Pakistan is a responsible and declared nuclear power, and its nuclear capabilities are a testament to the country’s strong defense posture and strategic regional balance.
