Donald Trump Calls Himself Top Candidate for Nobel Peace Prize Amidst Diplomatic Claims

US President Donald Trump has declared himself the best candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize during a speech at the National Day event in Iowa. Trump highlighted his administration’s role in preventing wars in five countries, brokering ceasefires between Pakistan and India before a potential nuclear conflict, and stopping conflicts between Kosovo and Serbia.
He also claimed to have ended the 30-year-long war between Congo and Rwanda, which reportedly caused six million deaths. Expressing disappointment, Trump criticized the decision to award the Nobel Peace Prize to a university professor unknown to the public.
Trump further boasted about eliminating Iran’s nuclear facilities and praised the strength of the US military, mentioning a nonstop 37-hour flight by American aircraft.
On immigration, Trump announced a legislative plan to completely halt illegal border crossings, calling it the largest deportation initiative in US history.
He praised the current state of the US stock market, credited his previous term for economic success, and promised to make America stronger, safer, and greater than ever before.
Notably, Trump has been nominated for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize by a Republican member of Congress for his alleged role in facilitating a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Similarly, the Pakistani government has recommended Trump for the same prize, recognizing his decisive diplomatic intervention during the India-Pakistan crisis, with a formal recommendation letter sent to the Nobel Committee in Norway.
