Jamaat-e-Islami to Launch Long March from Quetta to Islamabad on July 25 for People’s Rights

Quetta:MPA and Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, has announced that his party will initiate a long march from Quetta to Islamabad on **July 25** to demand the rights of the people of Balochistan. The march will focus on ending **oppression, lawlessness**, and demanding the **provision of jobs**, **resumption of trade**, **ending border restrictions**, and an end to the issue of **forced disappearances**.

Addressing the monthly organizational review meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman expressed that the **democratic resistance** would continue to address political and economic deprivation and will work towards alleviating the difficulties and struggles of the people of Balochistan.

The meeting was attended by senior party leaders including Abdul Mateen Akhundzada, Murtaza Khan Kakar, Zahid Akhtar Baloch, Maulana Abdul Kabir Shakir, Professor Maulana Muhammad Ayub, Mansoor, Maulana Muhammad Arif Damr, Maulana Muhammad Aslam Gzgi, Nooruddin Ghulzai, Professor Sultan Muhammad Kakar, Maulana Abdul Nasir Shahab Zai, Naqibullah Akhwani, Sultan Muhammad Mehnati, and Ahmad Shah Ghazi, among others. The leaders discussed and prepared plans for the upcoming long march, including strategizing on participation and organizing events in different districts.

During the meeting, the leadership expressed that **government forces** and the **ruling elite** have failed to listen to the demands of the people of Balochistan. Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami would become the **strong voice** of the people of Balochistan and **secure their rights**, leading to an end to oppression, and ensuring the country’s resources are used for the welfare of the masses instead of a few privileged families.

He also highlighted the **failure of the government** and security agencies in addressing the recent **assassination of artist Musawar Kakar**, stating that the **lack of arrests** showed the incompetence of the authorities. Despite a large security budget in Balochistan, he pointed out that the **lives of children**, **travelers**, and **drivers** are still not safe.

Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman called for **free trade** between Balochistan and neighboring countries, such as **Iran** and **Afghanistan**, without border restrictions, which would help revive the local economy. He also demanded that the province should get its due share of the **China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)** benefits and **mineral resources** should be safeguarded from illegal exploitation.

He stressed the need to end the **bureaucratic discrimination** faced by the people of Balochistan, and condemned the ongoing practice of **forced disappearances**, where individuals are abducted without trial, and their bodies are dumped after being killed.

The leadership also resolved to intensify efforts to hold the government and relevant institutions accountable for their failure to ensure security and uphold the rights of Balochistan’s citizens.

This march is expected to bring attention to the **political and economic issues** that have plagued Balochistan, and it will serve as a platform for the people to demand an end to years of **marginalization** and **disenfranchisement**.
