Hazarah Democratic Party Responds to Allegations of Fake MPA, Calls for Investigation

Quetta (UNA): The Hazarah Democratic Party (HDP) issued a strong statement condemning the baseless accusations made by a so-called “fake MPA” representing the PB-40 constituency on the issue of water scarcity in Hazara Town. The party dismissed the allegations as a desperate attempt by the self-styled MPA to gain political mileage by attacking the party. The statement claimed that the MPA, who came to power through dubious means and manipulated public opinion with money and influence, is unable to face the people of his constituency due to shame and embarrassment over his actions. The HDP accused the MPA of spreading lies in the assembly in a failed attempt to portray himself as a public benefactor.
The statement highlighted that Hazara Town has been facing a severe water crisis for over five decades, yet no government has addressed this critical issue. The private contractors, taking advantage of this negligence, have been profiting from selling water to the residents. The HDP pointed out that during the tenure of the party’s previous MPA, significant efforts were made to resolve this issue. Between 2019 and 2023, 33 water schemes, including new tube wells, water tanks, and pipelines for Hazara Town and PB-40, were approved with a total budget of 415 million rupees. These schemes were part of the PSDP records but faced delays due to lack of interest from the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), as well as local barriers.
The HDP further criticized the current government for canceling over 90 job vacancies for these essential projects before they could even be advertised. This decision was described as a grave injustice to the people of Hazara Town and the surrounding areas of PB-40 and PB-42. Despite not having representation in the assembly, the HDP emphasized that it remains the true representative of Hazara Town and PB-40 and continues to work tirelessly for a permanent solution to the water crisis.
Numerous meetings have been held with the Managing Director of WASA and the Secretary of PHED, during which the party’s efforts were acknowledged. The HDP pointed out that under the funds provided by their MPA, Qadir Nial, four reservoirs had already been completed, and several tube wells would soon be operational. Furthermore, a water supply project under Phase One is set to supply water to 3,500 households under WASA’s management. The HDP warned that if WASA continues to delay the process, the party will stage a full-scale protest.
The statement concluded by calling for a thorough investigation into the allegations made by the fake MPA against the leadership of HDP. The party made it clear that in the 2024-25 budget, they would not allow anyone, especially a parachute politician who has contributed nothing to Hazara Town, to make baseless claims against their party or the Hazara community.
