Pakistan’s Passport Among Top 100 in Global Ranking; New Features Introduced

Islamabad: In a significant milestone, Pakistan’s passport has made its way into the top 100 in the latest Henley Passport Index rankings for 2025. This marks a steady improvement, with the Pakistani passport now ranked 100th, up from 113th in 2021.
According to the report by “Henley & Partners,” the rise in Pakistan’s ranking is a reflection of the country’s improved diplomatic activities and international relations.
In a notable development, a new agreement between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan has been signed, allowing holders of diplomatic and official passports from both countries to travel visa-free. This agreement will facilitate smoother travel for such individuals and further strengthen diplomatic ties.
The report also states that Pakistani passport holders will now enjoy visa-free access to 32 countries, further enhancing the mobility of Pakistani citizens.
Reacting to the positive development, Director General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, congratulated the nation on the improved passport ranking. He also expressed gratitude for the special cooperation extended by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Interior Secretary.
Qazi highlighted that the new Pakistani passport now features advanced security features. E-passport holders will soon be able to access e-gate services at all airports. Additionally, passport applicants are receiving modern facilities and timely services, with a zero backlog in passport applications across Pakistan and globally.
He also mentioned that online passport services are being provided, with the passport fee now payable via the Easy Fee App in just seconds. Soon, citizens will be able to apply for passports from the comfort of their homes through a dedicated passport app.
Qazi confirmed that the journey of improving Pakistan’s passport ranking will continue with the support of the Ministry of Interior.
