Alleged Drug Dealer Anmol alias Pinky Acquitted in One Drug Case

KARACHI: A Karachi court has accepted the acquittal plea filed by alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky and acquitted her in a drug case registered at the Gizri Police Station.

The Additional District and Sessions Court announced its decision on Anmol’s acquittal application during proceedings in the narcotics case.

During the hearing, Anmol’s lawyer argued that two co-accused in the case had already been acquitted. He said Anmol had been implicated in the case on the basis of statements made by the co-accused.

The defence counsel maintained that after both co-accused had been acquitted, there was no longer a legal basis for continuing proceedings against Anmol on the basis of their statements. He further argued that, under the circumstances, there was no reasonable possibility of Anmol being convicted in the case.

After reviewing the arguments and examining the case record, the court accepted Anmol alias Pinky’s acquittal application and acquitted her in the case.

The narcotics case was registered against Anmol at Karachi’s Gizri Police Station in 2021. During the proceedings, she had been declared a proclaimed offender. Following the court’s acceptance of her acquittal plea, proceedings against her in the case have now come to an end.
