Balochistan’s Young Talent to be Showcased in PSL’s Talent Hunt Program: Provincial Sports Advisor

Quetta:Provincial Sports Advisor, Meena Majeed Baloch, announced that the government is taking significant steps to promote sports among the youth, providing them opportunities to showcase their talent. She also praised Lahore Qalandars for initiating the *Talent Hunt* program in the new edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Addressing a press conference at BUITEMS University alongside Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Hafeez and Lahore Qalandars CEO Atif Rana, Meena Majeed stated that over 600,000 players have already been trialed, with 22 players from Balochistan registered so far. She revealed that a four-day trial camp would be held in Balochistan as well.

She said, *“Starting the trials for selecting players from Balochistan reflects the importance of the province in the PSL’s vision. Five teams from Balochistan will now get the chance to compete at the national level.”*

She emphasized that Balochistan has abundant untapped talent, but it is crucial to provide the youth with opportunities to prove their skills. *“Our young athletes have excelled despite limited opportunities, and the Sports Department will now organize talent hunts in colleges and universities to further identify rising stars.”*

Additionally, Meena Majeed shared that five young athletes from Balochistan will be selected for Lahore’s central training camp. The provincial government will fully support the Lahore Qalandars’ talent trials, she confirmed.

Atif Rana, the CEO of Lahore Qalandars, revealed that the franchise has conducted trials for over 600,000 players and 22 of them from Balochistan have been registered. *“Our goal is to bring at least one player from Balochistan to the Lahore Qalandars team in the upcoming season so that young athletes from the province can showcase their talent on both the national and international stage,”* he said.

He further assured that the selected players will receive world-class training to hone their skills, hoping that one day, these players will represent not only their province but also the country, bringing pride to Balochistan and Pakistan.
