JUI-Balochistan Chief Senator Abdul Wasay Accuses Government and Authorities of Criminal Silence Over Targeted Attacks on Party Members

Quetta, Balochistan:** Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan Amir, Senator Maulana Abdul Wasay, has expressed grave concern over the ongoing attacks targeting party leaders and workers. In his statement, he emphasized that JUI’s leaders and supporters are being systematically targeted, with each passing day seeing the loss of another colleague. He further stressed that this continuous violence is evidence of a well-planned campaign against the party, with the government’s, administration’s, and law enforcement agencies’ criminal silence and indifference clearly visible.

Maulana Abdul Wasay criticized the government’s failure to provide adequate protection despite the significant sacrifices made by JUI. He described the prevailing situation as deeply painful and disheartening, especially given the disillusionment JUI faces from all sides. He made it clear that the party’s “greatest crime” is its unwavering commitment to standing by the nation, the Constitution, and the people.

“We have always chosen the path of supporting the country, the constitution, and the nation. We have offered martyrs for peace, raised our voices against enemies of the state, and championed national unity,” said Maulana Wasay. However, he noted, the party is now being punished for this loyalty, with leaders targeted by terrorism and their limited security detail being withdrawn, leaving them vulnerable.

He pointed out the contradiction between the government’s indifference—removing basic security measures—and JUI’s readiness to protect its leaders. He reminded the authorities of their constitutional and moral duty to protect the party’s leaders and workers. If the government continues this approach, he warned, public trust in the state will completely erode, and questions will be raised about the state’s authority.

Maulana Wasay urged the government and state institutions to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation into the targeted killings of JUI leaders, arrest the perpetrators and their facilitators, and restore full security for the party’s leaders and workers. He insisted that if the state is truly committed to its constitutional role, it must move beyond mere statements and take concrete action.

In unequivocal terms, Maulana Wasay declared that JUI would not back down from its principles or stance. “We have always spoken for the country, the people, and the constitution,” he said. However, if the government continues its apathy, this injustice will not only harm JUI but will strike a severe blow to the entire democratic process and constitutional politics in the country.
