Quetta: Youth Sent to Saudi Arabia Under BTVETA Scheme Face Severe Hardships, Appeal for Government Assistance

Quetta: Youngsters sent to Saudi Arabia under the BTVETA (Balochistan Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority) foreign employment scheme are facing severe hardships, having been stranded for the past 10 days without basic necessities. The affected individuals have sent out video messages, pleading for immediate intervention from the Balochistan government.
Sources suggest that the scheme was supposed to send around 30,000 young people from Balochistan to various countries, including Saudi Arabia, with the promise of employment and a better future. However, the first batch of youth sent to Saudi Arabia have found themselves without accommodation, food, or any basic facilities. Many are now forced to sleep under the open sky, facing hunger and thirst, while the concerned authorities remain silent.
One of the affected youths, in a video message, shared: “We were told that accommodation and food would be arranged as soon as we arrived, but no one came to receive us, and no one has contacted us since. We are wandering here, helpless.”
The young individuals have accused BTVETA and the Labour Department of turning the scheme into a mere paperwork exercise and a source of personal profit, exploiting their dreams in the process. The youth are now demanding immediate action from the Chief Minister of Balochistan to address the situation and provide them with the necessary assistance.
The situation has sparked outrage and concerns about the government’s role in ensuring the well-being of its citizens sent abroad under such schemes.
