Imran Khan Launches Nationwide Protest Movement from Jail, Says “No More Silence Under Tyranny

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has issued a defiant message from Adiala Jail, declaring the launch of a nationwide and sustained protest movement against what he described as a “reign of lawlessness” in the country.
In a strongly worded statement, Khan accused the state of closing all legal and constitutional avenues for PTI, prompting him to lead the party’s protest campaign from behind bars. He named PTI Secretary-General Omar Ayub as his official representative outside jail, with prominent lawyer Salman Akram Raja tasked with ensuring legal compliance of the movement’s actions.
> “The rule of law no longer exists in Pakistan. I will now lead this protest movement myself, and no force can stop it,” Khan asserted.
The former Prime Minister invited allied groups including the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen (Movement for the Protection of the Constitution), and Maharang Baloch’s group to join the campaign. He said a detailed roadmap of the protest will be made public in the coming days.
Referring to the events of May 9, which the government has labeled an “insurrection,” Khan reiterated that it was a “false flag operation” designed to crush PTI. He challenged the absence of CCTV footage as evidence of state manipulation and condemned the arrest of over 10,000 PTI workers.
Khan accused the judiciary of being paralyzed and criticized the 26th Constitutional Amendment for allegedly enabling partisan judicial appointments. He claimed that Election Commission head Sikandar Sultan Raja, whose term has ended, is illegally retaining office to “facilitate rigging.”
> “The judges fear one colonel. There is no justice left in this country,” he said.
Rejecting any negotiations with the government, Khan referred to current rulers as “NRO beneficiaries,” accusing them of securing legal impunity through backdoor deals with former military leaders.

Khan also dismissed recent rumors of foreign doctors visiting him, calling them “false distractions.” He described his prison conditions as harsh, alleging restrictions even on reading material, and reiterated his refusal to seek any deal or compromise.
In a message to the military establishment, Khan warned:
> “You need PTI. I don’t need you. Only a truly representative political force like PTI can help restore the army’s credibility among the people.”
He highlighted three urgent national challenges that require unity:
1. A potential threat of aggression from India under Narendra Modi.
2. Increasing terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
3. A collapsing economy and mass exodus of youth and investors.
Khan concluded by urging the people of Pakistan to rise for their rights, declaring:
> “Freedom is never handed over on a plate. You must stand for it yourselves.”
This powerful statement is expected to escalate political tensions further, as PTI plans its next moves in what it calls a fight for “true democracy and constitutional rule.”
