Balochistan MPA Kulsoom Niaz Walks Out in Protest Against Anti-Terrorism Amendment Bill

Quetta:Member of the Balochistan Assembly and Provincial Women’s Secretary of the National Party, **Kulsoom Niaz Baloch**, strongly opposed the **Anti-Terrorism Amendment Bill**, calling it a **violation of basic human rights**.
During the assembly session, Kulsoom Niaz attempted to voice her concerns about the bill, but **Speaker of the Assembly did not grant her permission to speak**, prompting her to **walk out of the house in protest**.
It is worth noting that **Kulsoom Niaz was the only National Party member present** in the session, and no other opposition member joined her in the walkout.
Speaking to the media after the session, she expressed **serious reservations**, stating that the bill could **undermine civil liberties** and potentially lead to an **increase in enforced disappearances and human rights violations** in Balochistan.
“Such laws do not bring peace,” she said, “but rather increase **public anxiety and distrust in the system**.”
