Balochistan govt announces new austerity, Fuel Saving measures

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has announced a series of austerity and fuel-saving measures aimed at reducing government expenditure and conserving fuel.
According to an official notification, fuel allocations for government vehicles will be reduced by 50% for three months. The purchase of new government vehicles and foreign visits by officials have also been banned.
Cuts in Government Expenditure
The government has imposed a ban on official dinners, seminars and conferences as part of the austerity measures.
It has also ordered a 5% reduction in government expenditure, excluding salaries and pensions.
The authorities have further directed that the one-dish policy be strictly implemented at wedding ceremonies.
Markets to Close at 9pm
Under the new measures, markets, bazaars and shopping malls across the province will close at 9pm.
Marriage halls will be required to close by 10pm, while restaurants will shut by 11pm.
Pharmacies, hospitals, petrol stations and dairy shops will remain exempt from the timing restrictions.
The austerity and fuel-saving measures will come into effect immediately.
