Good News for Residents: UAE Announces Four-Day Eid Al-Adha Holidays

United Arab Emirates: The UAE’s Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has officially announced a four-day holiday for all public sector employees on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
The holidays will begin on Thursday, June 5, 2025, and continue until Sunday, June 8. Offices will reopen on Monday, June 9. The holiday marks Eid Al-Adha, one of the most significant religious festivals in the Islamic calendar, commemorating the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
During Eid, Muslims perform special prayers, offer animal sacrifices, and distribute meat among the poor and needy. The holiday aims to provide citizens and residents with time for worship and to celebrate with family and loved ones.
Nationwide, large gatherings for Eid prayers are expected, and markets for sacrificial animals will see a significant boost. Malls, tourist spots, and commercial centers will host special events and offer discounts to mark the festivities.
The government has ensured that essential services such as security, sanitation, and emergency response will remain fully operational to facilitate a smooth and safe celebration.
Eid Al-Adha not only holds immense religious importance but has also become a major social and economic event in the UAE. Many institutions announce Eid bonuses and extra perks during this time, and restaurants, malls, and entertainment venues roll out exclusive Eid offers.
The official announcement of the holidays has brought joy and relief to Emiratis, expatriates, and tourists alike, who eagerly await this spiritually significant and festive period.
