Kolpur Awami Mahaz Protests Prolonged Power Outage, Accuses QESCO Official of Extortion

Kolpur:The Kolpur Awami Mahaz has issued a strong statement protesting the ongoing power outage on the Kolpur feeder, which has reportedly continued for over a week amid intense summer heat. Residents are facing severe difficulties due to the prolonged disruption.
According to the statement, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) responsible for the Kolpur feeder has allegedly reached new heights of extortion and blackmail. The group accused the SDO of deliberately cutting power to the entire feeder to pressure agricultural tube well operators into paying illegal charges.
“Despite repeated complaints and public protests, electricity has not been restored,” the Awami Mahaz said, adding that the official has ignored multiple notices and warnings.
The Kolpur Awami Mahaz has once again called on senior QESCO officials and the Balochistan High Court to take immediate notice of the situation. They demanded urgent intervention to restore electricity and alleviate the suffering of the local population.
