NAB Recovers and Distributes Over Rs88 Billion in First Quarter of 2025

ISLAMABAD:The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has released its performance report for the first quarter of 2025 (January–March), announcing total recoveries exceeding Rs88 billion through both direct and indirect means.

According to NAB’s official statement, Rs2.0847 billion were recovered directly, while the remaining Rs86 billion came through indirect recoveries. These amounts were primarily linked to cases involving illegal land transfers and encroachments on public and private properties.

Over the past eight months, NAB reported more than Rs3 trillion recovered through plea bargains, with all recovered assets returned to the relevant affected institutions.

Among the key recoveries:

* **NAB Balochistan** reclaimed 340 acres of Chilton Park and 250 acres of Forest Department land, valued at Rs6.45 billion.
* **NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa** recovered Rs560 million in a case involving officials from the Swat University, Revenue, and Forest departments.
* **NAB Lahore** made one of the largest recoveries, securing Rs70.87 billion from a mega case involving Employees Cooperative Housing Society, State Life Insurance Cooperative Housing Society, and Sarwar Omega Villas.
* **NAB Multan** recovered Rs13.206 million from GFS Seven Wonders Housing Scheme.
* **NAB Sukkur** retrieved 610 acres of land worth Rs8.53 billion, belonging to the National Highway Authority.

In terms of direct recoveries, NAB transferred:

* Rs9.72 million to the federal government,
* Rs10.80 million to provincial governments,
* Rs73.51 million to various departments and financial institutions.

The bureau emphasized that the recovered funds have been duly returned to the affected public and private entities, showcasing NAB’s continued commitment to fighting corruption and reclaiming national assets.
