Global Interest in Pakistan Air Force Surges After Historic Aerial Victory Over India

Islamabad:Following the historic aerial battle between Pakistan and India on the night of May 6–7, international interest in the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has surged significantly. Sources reveal that several countries have sent invitations to PAF for joint air exercises, while embassies in Islamabad have formally requested meetings with senior PAF officials to explore future avenues for defense cooperation.

In the battle, hailed as one of the largest air confrontations in recent history, the PAF successfully downed six Indian fighter jets, including the highly advanced Rafale. The engagement involved 42 Pakistani aircraft countering 72 Indian jets, showcasing superior tactical coordination and advanced electronic warfare capabilities.

The standout performer was the Chinese-made **J-10C fighter jet**, used for the first time in a major combat scenario by Pakistan. Its exceptional radar systems, missile capabilities, and integration into PAF’s broader air strategy earned global praise from military analysts. The J-10C’s combat success has drawn attention not only to the aircraft itself but also to China’s growing aerospace industry.

Informed diplomatic sources revealed that defense attachés from multiple embassies have reached out to understand how the mission was executed and to discuss potential strategic collaborations. Countries such as **Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates** have already invited Pakistan to participate in upcoming international air drills.

Meanwhile, the success of the J-10C has reinforced China-Pakistan defense ties, particularly around co-development programs like the **JF-17 Thunder**, 58% of which is produced in Pakistan, with final assembly also conducted locally. Analysts expect this milestone to deepen defense cooperation, with more focus on joint development, technology transfer, and strategic alignment.

Global media outlets have covered the aerial encounter extensively. The **Daily Telegraph** acknowledged the bravery of Indian pilots but conceded that Indian air forces were outclassed technologically. **CNN** called it the “largest air battle in modern history,” while **Reuters** reported that the engagement is expected to become a case study in modern air warfare for military academies in both the U.S. and China.

With this stunning display of aerial superiority, Pakistan has not only bolstered its defense reputation but also emerged as a key player in shaping the future of regional and global air power dynamics.
