One of the Largest and Longest Aerial Dogfights in History Took Place Between India and Pakistan: CNN Report

Washington :The recent aerial dogfight between Pakistan and India has been described as one of the largest and longest aerial engagements in modern aviation history, according to a report by American news outlet CNN. A total of 125 fighter jets were reportedly involved in the confrontation.
A senior Pakistani security official told CNN that the engagement was unprecedented in scale and duration. The Pakistani Air Force claims to have shot down five Indian aircraft, including three French-made Rafale fighter jets.
The report states that both nations’ fighter jets remained within their own airspace during the battle. Missile exchanges often occurred at distances greater than 160 kilometers. Neither side ordered their pilots to cross the border, a strategic decision influenced by the 2019 incident in which an Indian aircraft was downed by Pakistan and its pilot captured and shown on television — a moment that caused significant embarrassment for India.
Sources also noted that the Indian Air Force had to conduct multiple attempts to hit its targets, while Pakistani forces made concerted efforts to warn civilians in potentially targeted areas. As a result, the Pakistan Army reportedly succeeded in minimizing civilian casualties.
The aerial skirmish reportedly lasted over an hour, marking it as one of the most intense air combat incidents between the two nuclear-armed neighbors in recent history.
