Malala Yousafzai Urges Peace Amid Rising Tensions Between Pakistan and India

London:Nobel Peace Prize laureate and education activist Malala Yousafzai** has called for de-escalation between **Pakistan and India**, urging both nations to prioritize peace over conflict.
In a public statement, Malala said:
> “Hatred and violence are our common enemies. Pakistan and India must take steps to reduce tensions.”
She emphasized the role of the **international community**, stating that it should actively promote **diplomacy and dialogue** between the nuclear-armed neighbors.
> “Peace is the only path to our shared safety and prosperity,” she added.
Her remarks come in the wake of a deadly Indian airstrike earlier this week, which targeted civilian areas in **Azad Kashmir**, **Muridke**, and **Ahmedpur East**, resulting in **31 civilian deaths**, including **two children**, and leaving **51 injured**. Two mosques were also destroyed in the attack.
Pakistan responded forcefully, downing **five Indian aircraft**, including **three Rafale fighter jets**, a **MiG-29**, an **SU-30**, and a **combat drone**. The exchange has sparked fears of a wider conflict in **South Asia**.
Malala’s call for calm adds to growing voices urging restraint, dialogue, and peaceful resolution at a time of heightened volatility in the region.
