Federal Government Lifts Ban on Receiving Pension and Salary Simultaneously
Islamabad: The federal government has withdrawn the restriction on receiving pension and salary at the same time, allowing retired government employees to draw both benefits upon re-employment.
According to an official notification issued by the government, the Office Memorandums dated April 22 and June 19 related to pension cases have been withdrawn with immediate effect. As a result, the permission to receive both pension and salary after re-employment has been restored.
The new notification stated that the Ministry of Finance has revoked earlier instructions regarding re-employment, deciding to grant full financial benefits to retired officers who are reappointed. The federal government has also reinstated the “double benefit” scheme, under which re-employed retired employees will be entitled to receive both their salary and pension.
The decision is expected to provide financial relief to retired government servants and clarify the policy regarding post-retirement re-employment across federal departments.
