PM Shehbaz Sharif Praises Armed Forces for Repelling Indian Attack, Turning “Dark Night into a Moonlit One”

Islamabad:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces for their decisive and robust response to an attempted Indian airstrike, stating that “the dark night was turned into a moonlit one” by the bravery and preparedness of the country’s military.
Speaking during a session of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister revealed that India once again attempted a “cowardly attack under the cover of darkness,” similar to past provocations. He congratulated the nation’s 240 million citizens and praised Air Chief Zaheer Babar for the military’s swift and effective retaliation.
“India launched an unprovoked attack during the night, targeting civilian areas and resulting in the martyrdom of several Pakistanis, including women and children,” PM Shehbaz said. A prayer was held in the assembly for the souls of those who lost their lives.
Referring to the April 22 terrorist incident in Indian-occupied Pahalgam, the Prime Minister stated that within 10 minutes of the attack, India filed an FIR and began accusing Pakistan without evidence. He also highlighted a recent train hijacking involving the Jafar Express, alleging that the attackers had links to India, and claimed Pakistan possesses irrefutable proof of Indian involvement.
“We offered to open the Pahalgam incident to investigation by an international commission,” said Shehbaz Sharif. “Meanwhile, daily intelligence reports suggested Indian jets were preparing to strike. Our forces were on full alert, and when the moment came, they responded with wisdom and valor.”
The Prime Minister emphasized that although India boasts of its Rafale jets, it is courage and intelligence that determine victory. He confirmed that Pakistani forces successfully downed multiple Indian aircraft, with a total of 80 Indian jets involved in the failed attack.
“Air Chief Zaheer Babar deserves the nation’s salute,” the Prime Minister concluded. “Pakistan’s defense is in strong and capable hands.”
