Pakistan Summons Indian Diplomat Over “Cowardly” Airstrikes, Lodges Strong Protest

Islamabad: Pakistan has summoned the Indian Chargé d’Affaires to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to lodge a strong protest against what it called a “cowardly and unprovoked” attack by India, which allegedly resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children.
According to official reports, the Indian diplomat was summoned in Islamabad and was informed of Pakistan’s serious concerns over India’s airstrikes that targeted civilian areas across the international border and Line of Control (LoC), including Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan condemned the attacks, calling them a blatant violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and international law. He warned that India’s aggressive actions threaten regional peace and stability and have brought two nuclear-armed neighbors to the brink of a major confrontation.
He added that the use of standoff weapons by the Indian Air Force without provocation constitutes an irresponsible act of aggression and endangers not just civilians but also commercial air traffic.
Pakistan firmly rejected India’s narrative linking the strikes to alleged terrorist threats, calling it a false pretext to justify an escalation that puts the entire region at risk.
Shafqat Ali Khan stressed that such acts are in clear violation of the UN Charter, international law, and established norms of inter-state conduct. He affirmed that Pakistan reserves the right to respond at a time and place of its choosing under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
The spokesperson reiterated that the government, armed forces, and people of Pakistan stand united and determined to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity with unwavering resolve.
