“Ushna Shah Mocks Indian Govt After Instagram Ban: ‘My World Has Collapsed, Modi Ji What Have You Done?’”

Karachi: Following unfounded allegations by the Indian government against Pakistan over the Pahalgam attack, India is now facing criticism for its increasingly juvenile actions — including the blocking of social media accounts of Pakistani celebrities.
After blocking accounts of several Pakistani cricketers, India has now extended the ban to actors and actresses, with popular actress and TV host Ushna Shah among the affected. Her Instagram account has reportedly been blocked for users in India.
In response, Ushna Shah, known for her sharp wit and humor, took to social media to mock the Indian government’s move. Sarcastically addressing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she wrote, “My world has collapsed, Modi Ji what have you done?” She also added broken heart and crying emojis, enhancing the sarcastic tone.
Her humorous jab has been widely appreciated on social media, with one user commenting, “Wish Modi could understand this sarcasm.” Another added, “Those you’re trying to make sense to lack basic reasoning — or they wouldn’t be making such absurd moves in the first place.”
Other Pakistani celebrities whose Instagram accounts have reportedly been blocked in India include Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, and Ali Zafar. This follows earlier restrictions placed on the social media profiles of Pakistani cricketers.
The move appears to be part of a retaliatory campaign by the Indian government following the Pahalgam incident, where unknown assailants opened fire in the tourist region of Indian-occupied Kashmir, killing more than two dozen tourists. Without providing any evidence, the Indian government attempted to blame Pakistan — a claim even many Indian citizens have rejected as baseless.
Critics argue that these social media bans are only worsening India’s image and increasing global ridicule, rather than serving any meaningful diplomatic or security purpose.
