“The Gucci Coat You Wear to Court Was a Gift From Me”: Momina Iqbal Responds to Saqib Chadhar
LAHORE: Actress Momina Iqbal has responded to allegations made against her by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab Assembly member Saquib Chadhar in the ongoing harassment case, rejecting claims made by the lawmaker and his wife and making several allegations of her own.
Speaking on a podcast hosted by Rehan Tariq, Momina Iqbal mocked a statement by a lawyer associated with Saquib Chadhar, who had described the relationship between the two as “very close.”
“I find it very amusing when they say there was a very close relationship. Even if I accept that there was a very close relationship, then why did your sisters and brothers come to my house seeking a marriage proposal? Why did they hold my father’s feet and ask for the proposal?” she said.
The actress also claimed that the Gucci coat Saquib Chadhar currently wears when appearing in court was gifted to him by her.
She alleged that the PML-N lawmaker had been making statements aimed at damaging her reputation while also allegedly discussing his wife’s personal matters in gatherings.
Momina Iqbal further questioned Saquib Chadhar’s claim that the two had not been in contact for eight months.
“If you yourself say that there had been no relationship for eight months, then why did you send me that video?” she asked.
She also alleged that Saquib Chadhar’s wife subsequently sent her lengthy messages and threatened her, saying, “I will not let you get married.”
Momina Iqbal claimed that the couple were jointly creating a “drama” around the matter and alleged that both were now attempting to protect each other as the controversy intensified.
The allegations made by Momina Iqbal are part of the ongoing dispute and have not been independently verified. The legal proceedings and investigation will determine the facts of the case.
