US Reacts to Post-Pahalgam Incident: Supports India, Urges Responsible Dialogue Between India and Pakistan

Pakistan:After the recent incident in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which escalated tensions between India and Pakistan, the United States has issued an important statement.
According to foreign news agencies, the US Department of State has confirmed that Washington is in contact with both India and Pakistan and is urging both nations to work towards a “responsible solution.”
In an email sent to Reuters by a spokesperson from the US State Department, it was mentioned that “this is an evolving situation, and we are closely monitoring developments. We are in touch with both the Indian and Pakistani governments at various levels.”
The spokesperson further emphasized that the US encourages both parties to work together toward a responsible resolution.
While publicly expressing support for India, condemning the Pahalgam incident in strong terms, the US did not criticize Pakistan, despite India’s wish to shift the focus towards Pakistan. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and Iran have offered to mediate in the situation.
US President Donald Trump stated last week that he believes India and Pakistan will find a way to resolve the issue.
