Khuzdar: Woman Accuses Police of Negligence in Daughter’s Abduction Case, Threatens Highway Protest

Khuzdar:A resident of Khuzdar’s Kanak area, Bibi Durkhatoon, along with other women of her family, addressed a press conference alleging that on the night of April 7, 2025, around six armed men forcibly entered their house, abducted her 16-year-old daughter, Nusrat Bibi, and physically assaulted the women present. The assailants also stole mobile phones and other valuables from the house.

Durkhatoon stated that during the scuffle, they managed to unmask one of the assailants, and subsequently lodged an FIR at Khuzdar Police Station identifying the suspect. Although police arrested one of the accused, Saddam, following their identification, she claimed he is being treated like a guest at the station, without any proper interrogation, and no efforts are being made to recover her daughter.

She accused the police, particularly the SHO City, of negligence, favoritism, and maintaining a soft approach towards the suspect. Despite 20 days having passed since the abduction, there has been no recovery of her daughter, causing severe anguish to the family.

Durkhatoon further alleged that other suspects named in the FIR are influential individuals, and police are reluctant to arrest them. Expressing grave concern for her daughter’s safety, she appealed to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Inspector General of Police Balochistan, DIG Police Kalat Range, and SSP Khuzdar to intervene and ensure the recovery of her daughter through proper investigation.

She warned that if the abducted girl is not recovered by 8 AM, they will stage a sit-in protest on the Quetta-Karachi Highway, holding copies of the Holy Quran, and will continue blocking the road until justice is served and the perpetrators are brought to justice.
