Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari Slams Sindh Government, Highlights Punjab’s Historic Agricultural Package

Lahore:Punjab’s Information Minister Azma Bukhari** has strongly criticized **Sindh’s Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah**, challenging him to reflect on his government’s 16-year performance, while highlighting Punjab’s historic agricultural achievements over the past year.
Reacting to a recent press conference held by **Murad Ali Shah**, Bukhari questioned the Sindh government’s lack of support for farmers in the province. “Why is **Murad Ali Shah** more concerned about Punjab’s farmers than his own? Doesn’t Sindh have farmers?” she asked, further criticizing Sindh’s lack of initiatives for the agricultural sector.
Bukhari pointed out that Punjab’s government, led by **Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar** and supported by **Maryam Nawaz**, has provided a historic agricultural package worth **110 billion rupees** in just one year. The package includes **Kisan Cards**, **Green Tractors**, and **Super Seeders** to aid farmers. Furthermore, she mentioned that the Punjab government has focused on initiatives like **solarizing tube wells** and providing **15 billion rupees for wheat production**.
While stressing that this support has resulted in record wheat production in Punjab, Bukhari accused Sindh’s government of failing to take meaningful steps, such as setting a **wheat price** or procuring the crop directly from farmers.
The Information Minister also posed questions to the Sindh government: “Has Sindh fixed a wheat price? Have they bought wheat from their farmers? What is the performance of Sindh’s agricultural policies?”
She went on to claim that **Murad Ali Shah** and his party had been in power in **Sindh for 16 years** and needed to explain their achievements during this period. “Instead of worrying about Punjab’s farmers, they should first focus on their own,” she remarked.
Bukhari also accused **Murad Ali Shah** of supporting protesters who had blocked **Sindh’s main highways** and criticized his government for failing to address the **problems faced by Sindh’s farmers**. “Murad Ali Shah should be looking at things differently, and not just following the approach of those creating chaos,” she added.
The clash between the two provincial leaders highlights the ongoing political tension between **Punjab** and **Sindh**, with each side trying to assert its stance on agricultural policies and governance.
