Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Ali Amin Gandapur Criticizes Pakistan’s Political System, Emphasizes Sovereignty and Self-Determination

Lahore:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister, **Ali Amin Gandapur**, delivered a thought-provoking speech at the Lahore High Court Bar, criticizing the political history of Pakistan and the challenges it faces in maintaining sovereignty and self-governance.

Speaking passionately, Gandapur stated that the country’s history is marred by the imposition of martial laws and the violation of its constitution. He emphasized that Pakistan, which was founded on the principles of Islam, had lost its independence and had failed to live up to the ideals upon which it was created.

**”The country has seen martial laws imposed after the constitution was torn apart,”** he said. **”The country, which was meant to be a symbol of Islamic values and sovereignty, has not remained independent.”**

Gandapur reflected on the political struggles that led to the creation of Pakistan, stating that the nation had been subjected to ineffective and often harmful political rule. **”Political movements were carried out for the creation of Pakistan, but the governments that were imposed on us led to the country’s downfall,”** he noted.

In the context of current political developments, the Chief Minister highlighted the stance of former Prime Minister **Imran Khan**, who has expressed his willingness to engage in negotiations not for personal gains, but for the greater good of the nation. **”Imran Khan says he is ready for talks, not for himself, but for Pakistan,”** Gandapur remarked. **”His goal is not to become Prime Minister again; his goal is to make Pakistan a self-reliant, sovereign, and independent nation.”**

Ali Amin Gandapur went on to criticize Pakistan’s current financial situation, asserting that the country is heavily burdened with debt. He blamed the political elite for imposing their will and bringing in individuals who only serve their personal interests, claiming that these people are willing to do anything to maintain their power, even at the expense of the nation.

**”Today, Pakistan is drowning in debt,”** Gandapur said. **”The system is designed to bring in people who only shine their boots to serve the interests of the powerful, not the people.”**

He concluded by stating that when the time comes to stand up for what is right—truth, justice, and the welfare of the nation—**”the people will rise. Every citizen will come forward to ensure that we don’t let our children live in a country that is a slave to others.”**

Gandapur’s remarks reflect growing discontent with Pakistan’s political system, and his call for sovereignty and national pride resonates with many who feel the country has strayed from its founding principles. His speech suggests a deep frustration with the current state of affairs and a desire for change that returns power to the people, rather than a select few.
