U.S. Congressional Members Hail Successful Visit to Pakistan, Stress Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Islamabad: U.S. Congressional members, who recently concluded their visit to Pakistan, have termed the trip a major success and emphasized the importance of furthering future relations between the two countries. During their visit, they engaged with high-level political and military leaders, with the aim of strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and the U.S.
Congressman Jack Wernberg expressed that the importance of U.S.-Pakistan relations cannot be overstated, highlighting that these ties will have positive effects not only on the two nations but also on other developing regions worldwide. “We are working in specific sectors to foster partnerships, and the mining sector plays a crucial role in this. These steps will lay the foundation for strong industries that will benefit both Pakistan and the global community in the future,” Wernberg remarked.
He further added that new mining techniques and products are essential for the future of production, and the partnership between the U.S. and Pakistan is vital as both countries share a commitment to freedom and democracy.
Congressman Thomas Richard Swazi began his comments with “Assalam-o-Alaikum” (Greetings) and “Thank You,” reflecting on the warmth and hospitality extended by Pakistanis. He stated that the visit had been wonderful, and emphasized the need to strengthen U.S.-Pakistan relations on solid foundations. “Pakistani-Americans are seen as ambassadors who have achieved success in our land. Pakistanis are hardworking, educated, and family-oriented. Together, we will work towards economic security and promote economic activities between our nations,” Swazi affirmed.
Congressman Jonathan Luther Jackson described his visit to Pakistan as an enriching experience, observing firsthand the values of faith, unity, and discipline. “This is a golden opportunity to strengthen our relations with Pakistan based on our shared history and trust. I am confident that Pakistan’s future is very bright,” he said, adding that his visit included tours of religious sites and meetings with top Pakistani officials. Jackson reaffirmed his commitment to deepening U.S.-Pakistan ties and supporting the country’s ongoing successes.
The remarks from the visiting U.S. lawmakers underline a shared vision for expanding collaboration between the two countries, particularly in sectors such as mining, economic development, and mutual trust.
