Imran Khan Hospital Transfer Case: Supreme Court Returns Review Petition Over Missing Paper Books

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Registrar’s Office has returned a review petition filed by the Islamabad Chief Commissioner against the decision regarding the transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital, raising objections over incomplete documents.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the Registrar’s Office raised objections to the petition on Wednesday, stating that the mandatory documents and paper books required to accompany the review petition had not been completed.

As a result, the petition was returned at the preliminary stage.

Sources said the government has temporarily taken back the petition due to the objections and is likely to file it again before the Supreme Court after removing the technical and legal deficiencies.

The review petition had been filed by Islamabad Chief Commissioner through the Advocate General of Islamabad against the court’s decision concerning Imran Khan’s transfer to Shifa International Hospital.

In the petition, the Islamabad administration had requested the Supreme Court to review its earlier decision and written order and reconsider the legal and administrative aspects of transferring the former prime minister to the hospital.
