PCB Seeks Clarification from ICC Over Pakistan’s Name Omission During India-Bangladesh Champions Trophy Match

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally requested an explanation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) after Pakistan’s name was omitted during the live broadcast of the India vs Bangladesh match in the Champions Trophy.

According to cricket news website *Cricket Info*, the PCB has raised concerns with the ICC regarding this omission. The ICC, in response, attributed the issue to a “technical error” and assured that it would not occur again during future broadcasts. However, the PCB was not satisfied with the explanation provided.

This incident follows a series of controversies surrounding the Champions Trophy, which is the first international event hosted by Pakistan since the 1996 World Cup. Before the tournament began, India had expressed reluctance to play matches in Pakistan, insisting on a hybrid model. As a result, the schedule was delayed, and India’s matches were scheduled in Dubai.

Further tensions arose earlier when reports suggested that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) would not allow Pakistan’s name to appear on the Indian team’s shirts. However, later the shirts featured the name of the host country, Pakistan.

These ongoing issues have added to the challenges surrounding this prestigious cricket tournament.
