Federal Government Approves Safari Park Project in Islamabad Worth 10 Billion Rupees

The federal government has confirmed the construction of a Safari Park in Islamabad with an estimated cost of 10 billion rupees. The announcement was made by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during the inauguration of the Serena Interchange.

Officials initially considered establishing the proposed Safari Park within Fatima Jinnah Park, but now alternative locations are being explored. Sources suggest that Minister Mohsin Naqvi intends to initiate a similar public-interest project in Islamabad, modeled after the successful Safari Park in Lahore.

As the interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi had previously overseen the construction of the Safari Park in Lahore. In response to a written query from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb, Minister Naqvi clarified that while the Safari Park project is confirmed, construction has yet to commence. He mentioned that once work begins, the project is expected to be completed within 18 months.

Additionally, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has generated over 129 billion rupees through the auction of commercial plots over the past five years. The revenue from these auctions is expected to fund various developmental projects in the capital, including the Safari Park.
