Introduction of Pink Scooters and Electric Bikes Scheme in Balochistan

Quetta – The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sardar Fazal Bukhari, has announced the introduction of a new transportation initiative aimed at providing modern travel facilities for students, working women, and the general public. Under the scheme, pink scooters will be provided to female students, while male students will receive electric bikes. The scheme also allows the general public to benefit, with the regulatory process currently being formulated.
The goal of this initiative is to empower youth and women and to solve their commuting challenges. The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where various aspects of the scheme were discussed. During the meeting, it was decided to form a special committee, led by the Secretary of Finance, Balochistan, to determine the criteria for the distribution of scooters and bikes.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the scooters will be provided on subsidy to facilitate students, female workers, and others with their daily commute. Additionally, the scheme will be supported by bank financing under the guidance of the State Bank of Pakistan to ensure its feasibility and sustainability.
The Chief Minister instructed that the scheme should not be limited to students and working women but should also be accessible to the general public under easy terms, ensuring maximum participation.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Chief Minister approved the official launch of the pink scooters scheme, expressing his commitment to seeing Balochistan’s women as empowered and independent. This initiative is seen as a positive step toward enhancing their freedom and independence.
Officials attending the meeting commended the Chief Minister’s efforts and expressed their determination to implement the scheme quickly to provide better travel options to the youth and women of Balochistan.
