Quetta Deprived of Basic Facilities; Gas, Electricity, Water, and Flour Crises Are Open Proof of Government Incompetence — Pashtunkhwa NAP

Quetta — A closed-door regional conference of the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (Pashtunkhwa NAP) for Quetta district, linked to Sarki Kalan Khalqabad, was held under the chairmanship of provincial president Nasrullah Khan Zirai. The conference began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, performed by Hafiz Amjad, while stage duties were performed by the party’s district senior assistant secretary Nida Sangar.
The regional secretary presented a detailed report on the organizational and political performance of the past three years, which was reviewed and approved by hundreds of delegates. The conference elected a new regional executive, according to which Malik Shahid Khan Kasi was elected secretary, Dr. Zahir Shah senior assistant secretary, while Muhammad Hayat Khan Bareach, Abdul Rahman Khan, Zohaib Khan Kabzai, Malik Asif Khan Kasi, Malik Abdul Qadir Kasi, and Iqbal Chand were elected as assistants. Provincial president Nasrullah Khan Zirai administered the oath to the newly elected executive.
Present on the stage were the party’s central secretary Haji Azam Khan Masezai, provincial secretary first Faqir Khushhal Qasi, provincial deputy secretaries Abdul Razzaq Khan Bareach, Rahmatullah Sabir, and Ali Muhammad Tareen, along with Quetta district assistant secretaries Siddiq Mushwani, Ismatullah Tareen, Muhammad Rasool Tareen, and Aminullah Kakar.
Addressing the open session, provincial president Nasrullah Khan Zirai, central secretary Haji Azam Khan Masezai, Abdul Razzaq Bareach, Faqir Khushhal Qasi, Malik Shahid Khan Kasi, and other speakers extended warm congratulations to all workers of Sarki Kalan Khalqabad, particularly the former cabinet, on the successful holding of the conference.
The speakers said that only a strong, organized, and ideological political party can fulfill the aspirations and national dreams of its people. The continuous holding of conferences by various organizational bodies of the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party is proof that the party is going among the people and organizing them into its ranks. The inclusion of new people in every conference reflects the party’s public popularity and organizational activity.
They said that political, revolutionary, and ideological parties worldwide have played a fundamental role in achieving the development, prosperity, equality, and sovereignty of their nations. The development experiences of various countries, including China, highlight the fact that organized political leadership, a clear ideology, and collective struggle are of fundamental importance for national development. Similarly, many countries have established welfare states and provided their people with education, health, and other basic facilities.
The speakers strongly criticized the country’s ruling elite, saying that as a result of exploitative policies ongoing for the past eight decades, the Pashtun, Baloch, Sindhi, and Saraiki peoples have been kept deprived of their basic national, democratic, and economic rights. Their resources were occupied and terrorism and instability were imposed on their areas, as a result of which the Pashtun people in particular today face serious problems regarding the protection of their lives and property.
The speakers expressed deep concern over the basic problems faced by the people of Quetta city, saying that long and unannounced electricity load-shedding, the non-supply and low pressure of gas, severe water scarcity, rising inflation, the flour crisis, unemployment, and the deteriorating law and order situation have made life miserable for citizens. The rising prices and unavailability of flour have further increased the difficulties of the poor and middle class, while the continuous increase in the prices of food items and other daily necessities is making it difficult for people to support their families. On the other hand, the closure of electricity and gas has caused severe difficulties for domestic consumers, students, the business community, and laborers, while water scarcity has added to the daily life and health problems of citizens.
They said that Quetta, despite being a provincial capital, is deprived of basic urban facilities, which is a question mark over the performance of the relevant authorities and institutions. It is the government’s responsibility to take immediate and effective measures to reduce electricity load-shedding, ensure uninterrupted gas supply, find a permanent solution to the water crisis, ensure the availability of flour at reasonable prices, curb hoarding and profiteering, control inflation, and create employment opportunities for the youth. Providing people with basic facilities and food items at reasonable prices is not a favor but their basic right.
The speakers stressed that an organized, active, and ideological political party is needed to end the national, political, economic, and law and order problems faced by the people of the Pashtunkhwa homeland. They urged party workers to further strengthen organizational bodies, consolidate their contacts with the people, and make their struggle for national rights, democracy, social justice, sovereignty, and the provision of basic facilities to the people more effective.
