Asghar Khan Achakzai’s Arrest Is a Conspiracy of Political Revenge and Crushing Democratic Voices: HDP

QUETTA (Daily Quadrat Quetta) — The Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) has expressed concern over the arrest of Awami National Party Balochistan provincial president Asghar Khan Achakzai from the Chaman Sessions Court, terming it an attempt to suppress the voices of workers engaged in democratic political struggle.

In a central statement, the party said Asghar Khan Achakzai has been arrested in a case in which the complainant has already submitted a sworn statement to the court that Asghar Khan is not involved in the case.

According to the statement, Asghar Khan Achakzai is a political leader who raises his voice for democratic political struggle in the province and the people’s right to govern. His arrest has not sent a good message.

The Hazara Democratic Party said it stands with like-minded political parties engaged in democratic political struggle and expects that the Awami National Party’s provincial president will be released immediately.

The statement also expressed full solidarity with the Awami National Party.
