Rana Sanaullah Says Bajwa and Faiz Were Personally Involved in Past Political Developments

ISLAMABAD (Qudrat Daily): Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah has said that the circumstances at the time of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s statement, which Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman referred to, were different, adding that former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa and former ISI chief Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed were personally involved in the developments of that period.
Speaking to Geo News at Parliament House, Sanaullah said Nawaz Sharif had identified the individuals involved at the time and advised them against becoming involved in such matters.
Commenting on the possibility of imposing Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sanaullah said Maulana Fazlur Rehman should express his views on the issue in his own way. However, he said linking the matter to the Pakhtun community was not conducive to national unity.
“I believe Maulana Fazlur Rehman is particularly angry these days, but his anger will subside with time,” Sanaullah said.
Responding to a journalist’s question about Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s remarks that a party leader was upset because he had not received a share, Sanaullah said he had recently attended a meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
He said National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and he himself had participated in the meeting. Another meeting was subsequently held with the prime minister.
According to Sanaullah, Maulana Fazlur Rehman did not raise any such issue during either of the meetings.
