Karachi: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi arrived in Karachi for a three-day visit, where PTI workers clashed among themselves during his airport reception. The event saw significant disorder as party supporters gathered in large numbers to welcome him.

According to Express News, the confrontation among PTI workers escalated to physical altercations at the airport, disrupting traffic and causing chaos on the surrounding roads.

Senior Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani formally welcomed Chief Minister Afridi on behalf of the Sindh cabinet, presenting him with a traditional Sindhi cap and Ajrak.

Following the reception, Sohail Afridi proceeded in a rally from the airport to Insaaf House, and is scheduled to visit the Karachi Press Club and Bagh-e-Jinnah as part of his engagements.

Before departing Islamabad for Karachi, Afridi stated that he was visiting Sindh carrying a message from PTI chairman Imran Khan. He highlighted that his visit would include participation in various events and preparations for the street movement, culminating in a major public gathering at Mazar-e-Quaid on January 11, which he described as one of the largest in Karachi’s history.

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information Shafee Jan stated that Afridi’s Sindh visit aims to accelerate the party’s street movement. He detailed that Afridi would meet party leadership at Insaaf House, visit the press club, and hold scheduled meetings with Sindh Chief Minister, lawyers, business organizations, and media representatives.

Afridi’s itinerary also includes rallies and engagements in District South, Malir, Korangi, Hyderabad, Kotri, and Kemari, where he will interact with bar associations, traders’ unions, and party activists. On January 11, he will participate in the Mazar-e-Quaid gathering, meet media representatives, and later return to Peshawar after addressing the Sindh High Court Bar Association.

The visit underscores PTI’s focus on consolidating support and energizing its street-level political movement in Sindh ahead of upcoming events.
