Islamabad High Court Orders Protection for Lady Doctor and Family Amid Harassment Case

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered authorities to provide protection to a lady doctor and her family following allegations of harassment during an attempt to occupy her residence.
The court directed the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Senior Superintendent of Police and the concerned Station House Officer (SHO) to ensure the safety and security of Dr. Nuzhat Shakir and her family. It also sought responses from the relevant parties.
Justice Khadim Soomro issued the written order while hearing a petition filed by Dr. Nuzhat Shakir against the alleged harassment and attempted occupation of her house.
The court directed police authorities to provide appropriate security to the petitioner and her family and ensure their protection.
The IHC also summoned the SHO of Humak Police Station in person at the next hearing and sought a compliance report detailing the measures taken to ensure the petitioner’s protection.
The court further directed the police and local administration to ensure the security of the petitioner’s property as well as her personal safety.
The hearing was adjourned until October 13.
Dr. Nuzhat Shakir had approached the high court seeking protection after allegedly being harassed during an attempt to take possession of her residence.
