Dr. Nadir Khan Achakzai Wins PMA Quetta Branch Presidency with Landslide Victory

Quetta — **In the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Quetta Branch elections, Progressive Doctors Alliance candidate Dr. Nadir Khan Achakzai was elected president with an overwhelming 1,083 votes**, securing a decisive majority. The elections were held at the Bolan Medical Complex Hospital Conference Hall and PGMI Hall, Sandeman Provincial Quetta, following the lifting of a stay order by the High Court.

Polling ran smoothly from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with **1231 members casting their votes**. The contest was primarily between the Progressive Doctors Alliance and the Professional Doctors Forum. Alongside Dr. Nadir Khan Achakzai, the winning team included **Dr. Shoaib Baloch as General Secretary, Dr. Kamyar Khan as Senior Vice President, Dr. Zeenat Shahwani as Vice President, Dr. Fayyaz Mastoi as Joint Secretary, Dr. Munir Gichki as Press Secretary, Dr. Ashraf Tarin as Finance Secretary, and Dr. Tahira Baloch as Chairperson Field Operations**. The Professional Doctors Forum secured 121 votes, while 27 votes were rejected.

The **Election Commission announced the results in the presence of representatives from both panels**, which were accepted by all parties. Candidates from both sides appreciated the peaceful and democratic environment maintained throughout the process.

A **swearing-in ceremony** was held following the announcement of results, where senior PMA doctor **Saeedullah Khan administered the oath** to the newly elected officials and congratulated them on their victory. The PMA Quetta Election Commission also thanked all participating doctors for their enthusiasm, discipline, and active involvement in ensuring a transparent electoral process.
