Public Mandate Sacrificed to Conspiracies, We Will Resist Undemocratic and Unconstitutional Actions: Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey

Quetta – Provincial Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan, Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey, and General Secretary Maulana Agha Mahmood Shah have said that JUI will not accept any action against the democratic process, constitutional supremacy, and the people’s right to vote, and will offer full resistance to every undemocratic and unconstitutional action. Our predecessors’ history against oppression, tyranny, and slavery is one of resolve, perseverance, and resistance; the Malta exiles of the freedom movement are a bright chapter of this same resistance struggle. Love for our beloved homeland Pakistan is not merely a political slogan for us but an Islamic, national, and patriotic duty, for which we need no external instruction, permission, or guidance.
They said that on February 8, the entire nation expressed confidence in JUI through their votes, but the public mandate was sacrificed to palace conspiracies and political maneuvering; today its consequences are before the entire nation — dissent is being suppressed, tongues are being locked, and the market of consciences has been decorated through the buying and selling of political loyalties. They said that those who today bid for representation in an assembly are themselves uncertain about their own position and political standing; had they been true public representatives and reached the House through a genuine public mandate, they would have no fear of accountability before their conscience and the people.
JUI is not merely a political party but an organized intellectual, religious, and training movement, which has a regular and established system for training its workers; our workers are given practical training in religious knowledge, political awareness, organizational discipline, and collective responsibility, as well as in playing their role as responsible, principled, and patriotic Pakistanis. They said that every ideological worker of JUI is capable of becoming a trustee of the country’s resources, national trust, and public rights, and can play their role in state and national affairs with honesty, competence, and responsibility. Ideological workers are the real asset of JUI and the greatest strength of this party; this very ideological commitment and intellectual training is our party’s distinction.
JUI is our pride, our identity, and our dignity. Along with defending our ideology, constitution, constitutional principles, and democratic struggle, we have the full capability to promote them. In JUI, every moment of struggle holds the status of worship for us alongside political responsibility, and we will continue our constitutional, democratic, and peaceful struggle for the protection of our ideology and principles.
