Gwadar Free Zone: Chinese Company Hengeng Rejects Probe Based on Anonymous Complaints, Calls It a Plot to Undermine CPEC

*Gwadar:* Hengeng, a Chinese company investing in the Gwadar Free Zone, has strongly rejected investigations initiated on the basis of anonymous complaints, terming such actions legally irresponsible and a conspiracy to sabotage the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and broader Pakistan–China economic cooperation.

In an official statement, the company said that initiating inquiries solely on the basis of unverified and unsigned letters, without concrete evidence, undermines legal norms and damages investor confidence. Hengeng maintained that such moves embolden disruptive elements and create uncertainty for foreign investors operating in Pakistan.

The company demanded that the “baseless investigations” be halted immediately, warning that if the process continues, it reserves the right to seek protection of its interests through international legal frameworks and diplomatic channels.

Reiterating its commitment to Pakistan’s economic development, Hengeng said it would continue its investment and operations without bowing to pressure, and reaffirmed its support for strengthening bilateral economic cooperation between Pakistan and China.
