If Law and Order Is the Justification for Governor’s Rule, Then Governor’s Rule Should First Be Imposed in Balochistan: Shafi Jan

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan has said that if the law and order situation is the justification for governor’s rule, then governor’s rule should first be imposed in Balochistan, where a large part has become a no-go area. He said terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa began with a telephone call after 9/11, and if governor’s rule is imposed in KP, there will be a public reaction.
According to details, KP Information Minister Shafi Jan, while addressing a press conference along with Special Assistant for Interior Tariq Saeed Marwat, said that duties have been assigned to federal ministers, and the ministers are continuously linking terrorism to the KP government. “Their ministers have only one ready-made script. Ikhtiar Wali is a rejected person; he presented wrong statistics regarding the police. Federal ministers facilitated terrorists and tried to show the police as weak. An attempt is being made to build a negative narrative against the KP government,” he said.
He said that if the law and order situation is the justification for governor’s rule, then governor’s rule should first be imposed in Balochistan, as a large part of Balochistan has become a no-go area. “The situation there should also be looked at for governor’s rule. If governor’s rule is imposed, there will be a public reaction. Terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa began with a telephone call after 9/11,” he said.
He said that Imran Khan opposed drone attacks in the tribal districts. “Coming to power in 2013, we put Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the path of peace and development. After Imran Khan was elected prime minister, an era of peace came to the country. After Imran Khan was removed, the country was pushed back toward terrorism. Atta Tarar comes to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and roams around here; he should also visit Balochistan. We are ready to sit with everyone for the elimination of terrorism and policymaking, but the federal government’s intentions are not right and its temperament is also unpleasant,” he said.
He said that changing the September 27 date for the long march was their political strategy. “The federal government wants to bring the public and institutions face to face. Those responsible for Dawn Leaks and the attack on the Supreme Court are today illegally sitting in power. The federal government should clarify its position: is it standing with Pakistan or with India? We stand with Pakistan; Pakistan is part of our faith,” he said.
He said that Rs 7.4 billion was paid to Heavy Industries Taxila and other relevant federal institutions for the purchase of 57 modern equipment for the police, but despite the payment of Rs 7.4 billion, only 13 pieces of equipment have been provided to the police so far. Tactics are being used to delay the supply of equipment to the police. The police budget has been increased to Rs 191 billion, and Chief Minister Sohail Afridi gave a package of Rs 35 billion for the police and CTD. “Maryam Nawaz Sharif is becoming a threat to the federation of the country. Only Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and the KP government are being targeted. We have sacrificed 80,000 lives, yet we are being taunted. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is not being given its rightful share in the war against terrorism,” he said.
He said that under your government, the country has reached number one in the terrorism index. Chief Minister Sohail Afridi wrote several letters for the Apex Committee meeting, but no reply came. After health and education, the highest budget has been given to the police. In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa budget, law and order and the police have been given prominent priority.
