Telephone Contact Between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

ISLAMABAD (Qudrat Roznama) – A telephone conversation took place between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in which the Prime Minister condemned the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister condemned the targeting of Saudi Arabia’s civilian and economic infrastructure and expressed complete solidarity with the Saudi leadership and people.
The Prime Minister said that the Houthi actions are a threat to regional peace and security, and that these actions could cause disruption to the global economy and energy supply. The Prime Minister said that, along with Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Deputy Prime Minister, he will continue his efforts to reduce tensions and establish peace in the region. The Prime Minister paid tribute to the Saudi Crown Prince for his wise and far-sighted leadership during the current crisis, while expressing good wishes for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz. According to the statement, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also appreciated Pakistan’s continuous and steadfast support for Saudi Arabia and Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in the region. Both leaders agreed to maintain close contact and expressed the desire to meet soon.
