Momina Iqbal Demanded Rs200 Million for Settlement Through Lawyer, Claims Saqib Chadhar

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab Assembly member Saquib Chadhar has alleged that actress Momina Iqbal demanded Rs200 million through her lawyer to settle the dispute between the two sides.
Speaking in a podcast, Saquib Chadhar claimed that Momina Iqbal initially demanded Rs200 million through her lawyer, Adnan Ahsan, for a settlement. He alleged that the demand was later reduced by Rs90 million, with the amount ultimately sought being Rs110 million.
“First, they demanded Rs200 million through her lawyer for a settlement. Later, they gave me a Rs90 million discount and demanded Rs110 million. Now tell me, who is the blackmailer?” he said.
Meanwhile, a new development has emerged in the case involving Momina Iqbal and Saquib Chadhar, as the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has reportedly collected digital evidence during its investigation and issued notices to both parties.
Journalist Azam Malik said, citing sources, that the digital evidence collected by the agency includes a video that had previously circulated online. He added that some data allegedly withheld by both parties has also become part of the investigation.
According to NCCIA sources, both Momina Iqbal and Saquib Chadhar should have provided such evidence directly to the investigating agency themselves.
The NCCIA told the court that, at present, it was not seeking the arrest of either party. The agency maintained that not seeking arrests at this stage was part of the investigative process, as investigators in certain cases first collect and examine evidence before taking further action.

Both parties have reportedly been issued 10-day notices and will be summoned for questioning. Investigators will question them separately on the basis of the newly collected digital evidence and will also provide them with questionnaires.
The investigation will also examine why information or evidence relating to the circulating video and other digital data was allegedly not provided to the agency.
According to Azam Malik, questions regarding data obtained from mobile phones through forensic audits will also form part of the investigation.

At this stage, it would not be appropriate to declare either party innocent or guilty, he said. The NCCIA will complete its inquiry on the basis of the new evidence, after which its report will be submitted to the Director General of the NCCIA. Further legal action will be decided in light of the findings of the investigation.
The allegations regarding the settlement demand and other claims remain allegations and have not been established by a court.
