Khawaja Asif Criticizes Taliban’s Shift in Alliances, Highlights Support for India and Israel
Islamabad:Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has expressed concern over the changing alliances of the Taliban, pointing out that the same group, which had been labeled as terrorists by the US and Western countries, is now standing alongside Israel and India.
In his statement, Asif emphasized that this observation is not his alone, but also the view of Praveen Sahni, a senior Indian journalist and defense analyst. Asif quoted Sahni, who mentioned that only Israel and Afghanistan supported India in the global arena during the controversial “Operation Sindoor” against Pakistan.
Asif further highlighted recent reports indicating that after suffering military setbacks against Pakistan, a senior Taliban official secretly visited India, signaling a possible shift in regional dynamics.
The shifting alliances and the growing cooperation between the Taliban, Israel, and India have raised alarms within Pakistan, particularly given the historical tensions in the region.
