Attack on Reko Diq Project Convoy Foiled in Chagai, 11 Attackers Killed
QUETTA: Security forces foiled an attack on a convoy associated with the Reko Diq project in Chagai district, killing 11 attackers in an exchange of fire, according to security sources.
The sources said that on Monday, terrorists attacked a convoy transporting empty Reko Diq project vehicles from Chagai to Quetta in the Nok Chah area.
Security forces responded to the attack, killing 11 attackers and injuring three others.
A large quantity of weapons was recovered from the possession of the killed militants, the sources said.
Two security personnel were also injured during the exchange of fire.
Following the incident, a large contingent of security forces reached the area and launched a search operation to locate any remaining militants and secure the surrounding area.
