Islamabad:The U.S. Mission in Pakistan has issued a security advisory, warning American citizens and embassy staff to avoid the Serena Hotel in Peshawar and its surrounding area from November 27 to December 16, 2024. The advisory is based on credible security information.
In the advisory, American citizens are urged to reconsider travel plans to the hotel and the nearby area during this period, and to exercise caution if they are already in the vicinity. The U.S. Mission also reminded citizens about a previous advisory issued on September 10, 2024, regarding the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province due to ongoing terrorism concerns.
American nationals already present in the region have been advised to take extra precautions, and if they find themselves near the hotel unexpectedly, they should leave the area immediately.
The advisory further recommends that U.S. citizens review their personal security protocols, stay informed through local media, avoid displaying identification, and remain aware of their surroundings. It also encourages individuals to cooperate with local authorities and review updated travel reports.
The U.S. Mission continues to emphasize the importance of vigilance and preparedness in light of the current security environment in the region.
