Assembly Condemns Abusive Remarks Against Chief Secretary; PPP Distances Itself from Ali Hassan Zehri’s Statement **Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta)** – Members of the Balochistan Assembly, both from the treasury and opposition benches, strongly condemned the alleged use of abusive language by former provincial minister Ali Hassan Zehri against the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, declaring that such remarks are against the traditions and values of Balochistan. During Friday’s session of the assembly, Public Accounts Committee Chairman Asghar Ali Tareen raised the matter on a point of order and criticized the inappropriate language reportedly used against the Chief Secretary. He stated that not only the current but all former Chief Secretaries have served Balochistan with dedication, and the use of disrespectful words is unacceptable. Provincial Minister and PPP leader Zahoor Buledi said that the Chief Secretary is a respectable and competent individual working tirelessly for the province’s development. He clarified that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has no connection with the remarks made by Ali Hassan Zehri, describing them as his personal act. He emphasized that Balochistan is a land of traditions and tolerance, adding that the PPP has historically responded to even its harshest critics with dignity, recalling the legacy of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. PPP Parliamentary Leader and Provincial Minister Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani also termed the Chief Secretary a respectable figure committed to the prosperity of Balochistan. He reiterated that the incident was an individual’s personal action, which the party condemns. He further stated that the matter should not be linked to the party’s official stance and suggested that the assembly proceedings be forwarded to the President to clarify the party’s position. Provincial Minister from Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N), Mir Asim Kurd Gello, also strongly condemned the remarks and stressed the need for tolerance and mutual respect within the assembly. Lawmakers collectively emphasized that abusive language against senior officials serving the province undermines institutional respect and is inconsistent with Balochistan’s cultural values.
