KP Received Over Rs34.88 Trillion in Federal Transfers Over Five Years, Assembly Told

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has been informed that the province received more than Rs34.88 trillion from the federal government over the past five financial years under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award and the War on Terror funding mechanism.
According to official documents presented in the provincial assembly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa received a total of Rs34.88675 trillion between the 2021 and 2025 financial years.
The documents show that Rs31.1445 trillion was transferred under the NFC Award, while Rs3.74224 trillion was released by the federal government under War on Terror-related allocations during the same period.
According to the figures, the highest annual transfers were made during the 2024–25 financial year, when the province received a total of Rs10.46875 trillion.
During that fiscal year, Rs9.34579 trillion was transferred under the NFC Award, while Rs1.12223 trillion was provided under the War on Terror funding category.
The documents further state that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s total entitlement from the federal government over the five-year period amounted to Rs36.47649 trillion, while the province actually received Rs34.88675 trillion.
Based on the official figures, the province is still owed approximately Rs158.97 billion by the federal government under the NFC Award and War on Terror allocations, according to the documents presented in the assembly.
