Punjab Police Foil Terrorist Attack on Police Station in Mianwali, Four Militants Killed

Lahore: Punjab Police successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on the Chapri Police Station in Mianwali, located near the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) border, killing four militants. According to a statement issued by the Punjab Police spokesperson, the attack was carried out by more than 20 heavily armed terrorists, who launched a surprise assault on the police station.
The militants used rocket launchers and grenades in an attempt to breach the station, but the police responded with intense gunfire, preventing the attackers from causing any significant damage. Two police officers sustained minor injuries in the exchange of fire.
The police spokesperson confirmed that the attack was successfully repelled, and four of the militants were killed in the confrontation. Following the attack, District Police Officer (DPO) Mianwali, Akhtar Farooq, and senior police officials arrived at the scene to supervise the operation. The Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, praised the police’s swift response in foiling the attack and reaffirmed that the force remains vigilant in combating terrorism.
IG Punjab assured that Punjab Police would continue to take firm action against anti-state elements, maintaining their commitment to peace and security in the region.
